5-Day Cultural Odyssey in Cappadocia: The Land of Saints & Fairy Chimneys

Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in the Heart of Anatolia
- Arrival at Kayseri Airport and meet-and-greet with our team.
- Transfer to the scenic town of Uçhisar. En route, we stop at Pigeon Valley to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view.
- Hotel check-in and time to relax or take a first stroll through the lunar landscape.
Day 2: Rock-Cut Heritage & The Art of Pottery
- Göreeme Open Air Museum (UNESCO): Explore the famous rock-cut churches with stunning frescoes dating from the 10th to 13th centuries.
- Pasabağ & Zelve: Witness the most impressive "Fairy Chimneys" and walk through the abandoned cave village of Zelve.
- Devrent Valley: Also known as "Imagination Valley," famous for its whimsical rock formations.
- Mustafapaşa (Sinasos): A visit to this historic Greek village to admire its grand mansions and the Church of Saints Constantine and Helen.
- Avanos: We visit a traditional pottery workshop on the banks of the Red River and a volcanic stone atelier to learn about local gemstones.
Day 3: Underground Cities & The Monastic Canyon
- Derinkuyu Underground City: Descend into a marvel of ancient engineering, a multi-level city carved deep into the earth.
- Ihlara Valley: A lush canyon and an ancient monastic center. We hike through the valley, visiting rock-hewn churches with rare frescoes.
- Güzelyurt (Gelveri): The birthplace of St. Gregory of Nazianzus. We visit his church and the nearby Red Church (Kızıl Kilise), a 6th-century architectural gem.
Day 4: Following History – Niğde & Hidden Villages
- Departure for Niğde. Our first stop is Andavali to see the 5th-century Church of Constantine and Helen.
- Gümüşler Monastery: A breathtaking rock-cut monastery featuring the unique "Smiling Virgin Mary" fresco.
- Yeşilburç: A charming village where we will taste traditional local flavors at the women’s cooperative.
- Niğde City Tour: Visit the Seljuk-era Alaeddin Mosque and the city’s Archaeological Museum.
Day 5: Kayseri – From Ancient Trade to Ottoman Grandeur
- Check-out and city tour of Kayseri.
- Visit the Museum of Seljuk Civilization, the Kurşunlu Mosque (designed by the great architect Sinan), and the Inner Castle (İç Kale).
- A walk through the old Armenian quarter for a taste of local delicacies.
- Kültepe (Kanesh): Our final stop at the first trade center of Asia Minor, dating back to 2000 BC.
- Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
