About Saint Paisios

Saint Paisios of Mount Athos (1924–1994) is one of the most beloved and revered modern saints in the Orthodox Christian world. Known for his deep spirituality, humility, and ability to guide and comfort people with his words, Saint Paisios became a spiritual father to thousands during his lifetime.

He was born in Cappadocia, in a village with strong Christian traditions, before his family relocated to Greece during the population exchange. Despite the hardships of his early life, he dedicated himself to God and eventually became a monk on Mount Athos. He was canonized as a saint by the Ecumenical Patriarchate in 2015.
